France: Man armed with knife barricades himself in hotel in Vaucluse

(Baonghean.vn) - Police said that since noon on July 19, a man carrying a knife and a suspicious package has been barricading himself at the Formule 1 hotel, located in Bollène, Vaucluse province, France.

The hotel has been evacuated and GIGN gendarmes are deployed at the scene, a police spokesman said.

A spokesman for the Vaucluse province also confirmed that an armed man was barricaded in the hotel.

Police are now waiting for negotiators to arrive at the scene.

A 250-metre security perimeter has been established around the Formule 1 hotel, not far from the A7 motorway.
