Mr. Chew, 33 years old, was also fined 2,000 SGD (about 1,400 USD) for insulting others.
According to the Straits Times, Mr Chew has pleaded guilty to 12 of the 28 charges against him. The remaining charges against Mr Chew are under consideration.
Prosecutors had previously asked for a three-year prison sentence. The court said the sentence was reduced because he pleaded guilty.
Mr. Chew also returned 12,199 SGD (about 8,600 USD) in compensation to 26 of his victims. He was accused of defrauding many customers who came to buy phones at his store.
Mr. Chew's behavior was strongly criticized by public opinion after a video clip went viral on the internet in November 2014, in which a Vietnamese tourist cried and knelt in his store to ask for a refund for his iPhone 6. This tourist was also one of the victims of the Mobile Air store.
Mr Chew's four accomplices in the case, Koh Guan Seng, Kam Kok Keong, Lom Hong Ching and Kelvin Lim, were sentenced to between four and 14 months in prison.
