Launching the Action Month for the Elderly in Vietnam in 2023
Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien suggested that all levels, sectors and the whole society continue to join hands to protect, care for and create conditions for the elderly to contribute their intelligence and efforts, and together with the whole country, realize the aspiration of building a rich, beautiful and civilized country.
On the evening of September 30, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly coordinated with Ha Tinh province to organize a launching ceremony to respond to the Action Month for the Vietnamese Elderly in 2023.
Attending the ceremony were Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly Nguyen Thanh Binh; nearly 600 delegates from central ministries, departments, branches, and associations of the elderly in northern provinces and cities.
On the side of Ha Tinh province, there were Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Trung Dung; former leaders of the province through the periods; leaders of the province and departments, branches and sectors.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly Nguyen Thanh Binh affirmed the role and great contributions of the elderly to the cause of national construction and defense.
Over the years, the Party and State have always appreciated the position, contributions and care for the elderly. Vietnam is considered by the United Nations to be a bright spot in the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals, all of which are related to the elderly.

As of February 2023, the country has nearly 17 million elderly people. Activities such as "Action Month for the Elderly in Vietnam", the campaign "All people care for, support and promote the role of the elderly", the movement "Old age - Good example"... have been widely and effectively implemented by all levels and sectors.
With the theme "Elderly people are promoted and fully cared for", the Month of Action for the Elderly in 2023 has profound humanistic significance, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of Party committees, authorities, sectors, organizations, families and the social community in implementing the Law on the Elderly, policies, work to protect, care for and promote the role of the elderly in today's life.

Launching the Action Month for the Elderly in 2023, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien emphasized that the elderly are always a solid spiritual support for each family, clan and the whole society; always making worthy contributions to the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.
The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front requested localities, departments, branches and the whole society to promptly and effectively implement the Party and State's policies and guidelines on the elderly; continue to join hands, contribute efforts and money to care for, sponsor and help the elderly who are in difficulty, lonely and have no one to rely on to stabilize their lives.

The Vietnam National Committee on Aging proactively coordinates with relevant agencies to complete the dossier and submit it to the Government to issue a national strategy on the elderly in the new period under the direction of the Prime Minister.
Associations at all levels and the elderly nationwide continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, uphold the spirit of "old age - bright example", "live happily, live healthily"; depending on specific conditions, with the valuable experience of each person, continue to contribute intelligence and effort, together with the whole country to realize the aspiration of building a rich, civilized country, where the people have a prosperous and happy life.

Speaking in response to the Month of Action for the Elderly in 2023, Provincial Party Secretary Hoang Trung Dung affirmed that with a deep awareness that "the elderly are a valuable asset of the nation, an important force of the country, the backbone of the family and society", the work of caring for, supporting and promoting the role of the elderly has always received special attention from Party committees at all levels, authorities and the political system of Ha Tinh province.
The Ha Tinh Elderly Association at all levels has made many innovations in its activities; encouraging members to do good business. Regardless of their position or field, the elderly members are always exemplary, creating a spreading influence, encouraging the community and their children to contribute to building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, building cultural life in residential areas, building families, clans that encourage learning, encourage talents...
Responding to the Month of Action for the Elderly in 2023, Ha Tinh province will focus on concretizing and effectively implementing the following tasks: Strengthening the leadership and direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels; synchronously implementing the Party and State's policies and guidelines on the elderly; mobilizing resources to care for the elderly.
Pay attention to investing in building facilities to serve the elderly; maintain the good operation of clubs, effectively promote the functions of cultural houses and public welfare works so that the elderly have an environment for cultural activities, entertainment and sports training.
At the same time, create conditions to build strong association organizations; promote the role of the elderly in participating in building the Party, government, and organizations in residential areas; contribute to building happy families, a rich and civilized homeland and country...
On this occasion, leaders of the Party, State, Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly and Ha Tinh province presented gifts to 10 centenarians and 10 people in difficult circumstances.

At the launching ceremony, the Organizing Committee of the Elderly Singing Festival in Region I of the Northern provinces awarded prizes to the entire delegation of the elderly associations of the provinces and cities participating in the festival, including 10 A prizes (Ha Tinh, Hanoi, Thanh Hoa, Cao Bang, Thai Binh, Dien Bien, Hung Yen, Nghe An, Ha Nam, Hai Phong); 10 B prizes (Son La, Bac Ninh, Lai Chau, Lang Son, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho, Nam Dinh, Bac Can); 6 C prizes (Bac Giang, Lao Cai, Hai Duong, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen, Hoa Binh).
