Mr. Ngu Van Nghia, who often rows a boat across this ferry, indignantly said that for over a month now, some people have arbitrarily dumped dead pig skins into the drainage ditch next to the ferry and thrown some dead pig skins right on the side of the road going up and down this ferry, causing terrible environmental pollution.

The area where people dumped the dead pigs was a large sewer from Nguoc Mountain that flows directly into Lam River. This will pollute the Lam River water passing through here. More seriously, African swine fever will spread more widely.

Previously, on October 22, people discovered a dead pig weighing about 30 kg on the road in Thinh Dai hamlet, Thanh Khe commune (Thanh Chuong). Immediately after receiving information from the people, the commune authorities destroyed it according to regulations, and at the same time sprayed disinfectant at the above locations. On October 20, people in Thanh Khe commune (Thanh Chuong) also discovered a sack containing 11 decomposing piglets in the commune's garbage pit.
African swine fever appeared in Thanh Khe commune since September 23. Up to now, over 5.5 tons of pigs, nearly 140 pigs, in 5 hamlets and 13 households, have been destroyed.
On the morning of October 23, authorities destroyed 55 wild boars weighing over 1.1 tons belonging to Mr. Hoang Dinh Khoi in Yen Lac hamlet.
“The total pig herd in Thanh Khe commune is not large, 100% of the farming is done by small-scale households, water and food sources are exploited, so when an epidemic occurs, it spreads quite quickly. Currently, the African swine fever epidemic in the area is complicated, almost every day there are pigs being culled,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Tham - a veterinary officer of Thanh Khe commune.

Due to the prolonged epidemic, many places have become complacent about the epidemic, causing epidemic prevention work to be somewhat neglected. Secondly, people's awareness of disease prevention and control is still poor, there are still phenomena of selling pigs, hiding the epidemic and dumping pig carcasses haphazardly into the environment. In particular, many households have moved their herds from epidemic areas to non-epidemic areas by "raising for others", so the risk of spreading and spreading the epidemic is very high.
It is known that in Thanh Chuong district, there are currently 26 communes and towns with African swine fever.

(Baonghean.vn) - Transporting pigs in and out of epidemic areas, dumping dead pigs indiscriminately, selling pork indiscriminately at epidemic sites... are the people's lack of awareness, causing African swine fever to spread rapidly in Nghe An province.
