Passenger bus discovered transporting 8 rare pangolins
(Baonghean.vn) - Dien Chau Traffic Police Station, Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Province Police has just discovered a case of transporting 8 rare pangolins on the way to be sold.
Accordingly, at 4:20 a.m. on December 20, at Km 418 on National Highway 1A in the South Block, Dien Hong Commune (Dien Chau), the Working Group of Dien Chau Traffic Police Station, Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police inspected the sleeper bus with license plate 81B - 008.33 traveling from Gia Lai to Hai Duong.

During the inspection, Nguyen Dinh Quyen, born in 1985, residing in Ia Kha town, Ia Grai district, Gia Lai province, and driver Vu Huy Quyen, born in 1964, residing in Ia Krai commune, Ia Grai district, Gia Lai province, were caught red-handed transporting animals on the list of endangered, rare and precious species prioritized for protection.
The working group seized two cardboard boxes sealed with tape, containing eight live pangolins.

At the time of inspection, the subjects could not present documents proving the legal origin of the animals. The case is currently being further investigated and clarified by the authorities.
