Detecting and handling the case of illegal transportation of 60 bamboo rats at night
(Baonghean.vn) - A case of transporting individual bamboo rats at night from Que Phong (Nghe An) to the lowlands for consumption was just discovered by the Traffic Police of Quy Chau District.
Accordingly, at about 11:00 p.m. on February 15, at Km 91+200 National Highway 48 in Tan Lac town, Quy Chau district, the working group of the Traffic Police Team of the district police was on patrol duty when they discovered a Ford Ranger pickup truck with license plate number 37C-339.37 showing many suspicious signs, so they signaled to stop the vehicle for an administrative check.

Upon inspection, the Task Force discovered 60 live bamboo rats in the pickup truck. However, driver Pham Van Sam (born in 1982), residing in Block 4, Long Son Commune, Thai Hoa Town, could not present documents matching the number of bamboo rats mentioned above. Therefore, the Task Force requested the driver and the evidence to return to the District Police Headquarters for verification and clarification.
At the police station, the driver confessed to transporting the above mentioned bamboo rats from Que Phong district to the lowlands for consumption. When passing through Quy Chau district, he was discovered by the police.
Currently, the case has been handed over by Quy Chau District Police to Quy Chau Forest Protection Department for handling in accordance with the law.
