Promoting the strength of national solidarity in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas

On the morning of December 15, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front held a conference to review 5 years of implementing the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas".

Attending the conference at the Central bridge point were comrades: Le Tien Chau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Truong Thi Ngoc Anh - Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

PROMOTING THE TRADITION OF SOLIDARITY

After 5 years of implementing the Campaign "All people unite to buildnew rural, civilized urban areas” has had a strong impact on all aspects of people's lives. Through the campaign, people have been encouraged to promote the tradition of solidarity, arouse resources, potentials, and internal strengths within each person, each family and community in economic, social, and cultural development, and maintain security and order.

The movement has contributed to the Party and State in promoting socialization, effectively solving social security issues, and sustainably reducing poverty; the material and spiritual life of the people has been gradually improved, consensus in the whole society, and the tradition of solidarity and mutual love of the people of all ethnic groups has been strongly promoted.

Through the campaign, it shows the will, spirit of solidarity and sharing of the Vietnamese people. The more difficult the situation, the stronger the spirit of solidarity and community connection.

As a result, over the past 5 years, people in provinces and cities across the country have voluntarily donated more than 26.7 million square meters of land to build essential infrastructure in rural areas. During the 2016-2021 period, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels mobilized 32,051 billion VND from the "For the Poor" Fund and the social security program; mobilized support to build and repair 228,221 "Great Unity" houses for the poor.

Receiving resources to support the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic, from May 1, 2021 to present, the total funding and materials mobilized through the Vietnam Fatherland Front system is 12,510.7 billion VND, received through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front is 1,089.7 billion VND.

To date, the country has 5,311/8,233 communes (64.75%) meeting new rural standards, of which 390 communes have met advanced NTM standards and 41 model NTM communes; 194 district-level units in 51 provinces and cities have been recognized by the Prime Minister as having completed the task of meeting NTM standards. Four provinces, Nam Dinh, Dong Nai, Hung Yen and Ha Nam, have been recognized by the Government as having completed the NTM task.

REPLICATING THE MODEL

In Nghe An, the Fatherland Front at all levels and organizations have promoted the mobilization of people to carry out the emulation movement "Nghe An joins hands to build new rural areas", creating a movement that has a wide spread in the province.

It is expected that in 2021, 20 more communes will meet new rural standards; the total number of communes in the province reaching 300, accounting for 72.99%, with 7 district-level units completing the task of building and meeting new rural standards.

Actively mobilizing people to develop the economy and increase income for rural people is the core goal of the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas". The movement of helping each other develop the economy, solve employment problems, reduce poverty, and enrich oneself legitimately has been widely developed.

From 2016 to present, the movement of helping each other develop the economy has supported the construction of 542 models, of which 378 models have achieved high efficiency. The poverty rate has decreased from 12.1% in 2015 to 3%. Through the "For the Poor" Fund and the Tet For the Poor program, over the past 5 years, over 600 billion VND has been mobilized to support, renovate and repair 5,000 "Great Solidarity" houses, helping develop production for 81 poor households to escape poverty.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Le Tien Chau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front emphasized: The campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" is a key and regular task of the Fatherland Front at all levels; promoting the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in gathering and promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc in the new period.

To promote the effectiveness of this campaign, the Fatherland Front at all levels continues to implement it in accordance with the direction of the Secretariat and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. Adjust and supplement the content of the campaign to promote the responsibility of the Front in participating in building new rural areas.poverty reductionsustainable, building new countryside, civilized urban areas.

Along with that, innovate propaganda and mobilization work for the people, ensuring the promotion of the role of the people in participating in building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, and sustainable poverty reduction. Coordinate with all levels and sectors in implementing movements to improve the quality and effectiveness of movements in the new period.

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development awarded a Certificate of Merit to Mr. La Quang Dao - Head of the Front Work Committee of Tung Huong village, Tam Quang commune, Tuong Duong district.
