Implement well the policy of rapid and sustainable poverty reduction
Over the past 5 years, Con Cuong has had an average economic growth rate of 7.25%; the economic structure has shifted towards reducing the proportion of agriculture - forestry - fishery, increasing the proportion of services - trade and industry - construction. In particular, the service - trade sector increased by 7.47%; average income per capita increased by 1.24 times; The poverty rate decreased from 32.1% (in 2014) to 20.24% (in 2018).

Currently, the district has more than 100 comprehensive economic models, cooperatives and cooperative groups, many models are deployed in remote and extremely difficult areas, most of the participants are ethnic minorities.
In the 2018-2019 school year, the district had 51 schools at all levels, of which 35 schools met national standards. The number of excellent students at the district and provincial levels increased steadily every year; the average high school graduation rate reached 99.4%, the number of ethnic minority students passing university entrance exams was increasing and many studious families appeared.

The direction from now to 2024 is determined by Con Cuong district to promote economic development, effectively implement the policy of rapid and sustainable poverty reduction. In which, develop agricultural, forestry and fishery production towards commodity production, shift the structure of crops and livestock reasonably towards high productivity, quality and economic value.

Along with that, strongly develop tourism - trade - services, focus on developing eco-tourism, based on the community, preserving national cultural identity. Protect forest areas well, take care of regenerating forests, promote concentrated afforestation and scattered tree planting, create a sustainable ecosystem, protect the environment and water resources.
Invest in developing industry, handicrafts and basic construction in a fast, effective and sustainable manner associated with environmental protection, effectively implementing social security policies, especially hunger eradication and poverty reduction...
Reasonable arrangement of ethnic minority staff resources
At the congress, many delegates discussed issues of building a strong political system in difficult areas; promoting the role of prestigious people in the community, the role of teachers in improving the qualifications of Dan Lai students...
Speaking at the congress, comrade Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the Provincial Ethnic Minority Congress acknowledged the achievements of ethnic minorities in Con Cuong district over the past 5 years. At the same time, he requested all levels and sectors to promote mass mobilization work, consolidate the great national unity bloc; promote the patriotic emulation movement associated with studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh, and the movement to build new rural areas.

On this occasion, the congress elected 25 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates to attend the provincial congress of ethnic minorities. At the same time, 4 individuals were awarded the Medal for the cause of ethnic development by the Central Committee for Ethnic Minorities; 2 groups and 15 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee and 10 groups and 33 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Con Cuong District People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in implementing ethnic policies.
