Genius invention helps to get honey without removing the hive
Harvesting honey is one of the most difficult and laborious tasks for beekeepers. However, the job has become much easier with this innovative new invention by Australian father and son Stuart Anderson and Cedar.

To collect honey and avoid being stung by bees, people need to wear protective gear, stun the bees with smoke, take the hive outside, then separate the honey, and put the hive back in the box… It is a very complicated and time-consuming process.
The invention, called Flow Hive, is actually specially designed plastic hives with tubes that lead honey out. Instead of using fixed hexagonal hives like the traditional type, here Mr. Stuart Anderson and his son created open hexagonal hives. After the bees have filled the hexagonal cells with honey, with just a turn of a lever located above the hive, the honey will automatically flow down the plastic tubes and out.

After rotating the lever, the hexagonal shape of the honeycomb will be opened to allow the honey to flow down the plastic tube. |
“It's unbelievable that no one has thought of this before, there were some people who tried in the 1920s, but when we saw how they did it we realised it couldn't work,” Mr Stuart said.

After more than 10 years of research and dozens of experimental models, Stuart Anderson and Cedar, father and son, finally succeeded. They called for investment capital for their system on the internet, and surprisingly, after only a few short days, the amount received reached millions of USD, while their initial goal was only 70,000 USD.
