Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has just signed Decision No. 1235/QD-TTg dated September 20, 2019 approving the investment policy of the Emergency Project to handle landslide incidents in Block 4, Muong Xen town, Ky Son district, Nghe An province.

The Project investment objective is to urgently handle the landslide incident in Block 4 of Muong Xen town, ensuring timely safety for households in areas at risk of landslides; ensuring safety for people and vehicles traveling on National Highway 7. The People's Committee of Ky Son district is the investor of the Project.

Regarding the scale of investment, the slope slope will be basically dug to all cracks, with a length of 130m along National Highway 7. The average slope slope height is about 90m above the road surface, the slope slope depends on the geology and current landslide status.

Build a retaining wall with gabions at the foot of the slope to prevent some of the loose soil and rocks from rolling down. The length of the gabion section is about 46m, the average height is about 4m; increase the bearing capacity of the gabion retaining wall with a system of I400 shaped steel piles embedded in the ground by drilling holes and stuffing concrete foundations.

In locations with weak geology, loose soil and rocks, and large landslides, the slope is reinforced by spraying cement concrete mortar, connected to a reinforced concrete frame system and anchored to the ground by D25 steel anchor bars embedded 2m deep into the slope; arrange a system of water collection ditches, drainage steps from the slope to a suitable drainage location.

The total investment of the project is 48 billion VND, of which the central budget supports 35 billion VND, the local budget 13 billion VND, including Nghe An provincial budget (provincial budget reserve, excess revenue source) 12 billion VND; Ky Son district budget 1 billion VND.
