Mr. Hung said that the police can extract all text messages sent and received from his phone number from 2014 to now (the time that the rumor implicitly mentioned), to investigate whether he had a "mistress" or violated work management principles.
The conference noted that rumors about Mr. Hung were spreading rapidly, causing public panic and seriously affecting the reputation of the individual and the leadership of Thanh Hoa province. Therefore, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee directed the Provincial Police to urgently investigate and strictly handle those who spread false rumors.

On the afternoon of March 20, Ms. Le Thi Trang (26 years old, makeup artist of Thanh Hoa Radio and Television Station) - the person believed to be the "mistress" of the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - sent a petition to the police agency to verify the person who spread false information, insulting her honor and personal reputation.
Ms. Trang said that she was blatantly "made up and slandered" and affirmed that she had never met Mr. Hung before, only knowing about him through mass media.She said she had a lover and had never been married, so she could not be the wife of someone namedSon Thai.
