On the afternoon of November 12, comrade Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the working delegation inspected the irrigation traffic situation in preparation for the upcoming Spring crop.
Also attending were Mr. Nguyen Hao - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; representatives of the Irrigation Sub-Department, Nam Irrigation Company Limited.
Here, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De and members inspected the current status of irrigation work on N4 canal in Hung Chau commune, belonging to Hung Nguyen Irrigation Enterprise; inspected 3 degraded and damaged pumping stations: Hung Chau pumping station (Hung Nguyen district), Bau Non pumping station, Nam Anh commune (Nam Dan district), Tho Son station, Nghi Trung commune (Nghi Loc).

Mr. Bui Van Hao - Chairman and Director of Nam Irrigation One Member Limited Liability Company reported on the recent irrigation campaign.
Nam Irrigation One Member Limited Liability Company is currently in charge of Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen and Nghi Loc districts.
From October 16 to now, the entire unit has coordinated with districts to mobilize thousands of workdays, dredging nearly 4,883m3Mud in canal systems, clearing bushes and weeds over 179,164 m2However, the current difficulty is that there are many damaged and degraded canals, and dozens of damaged pumps that need regular maintenance.

From now until the end of the irrigation campaign, the unit will coordinate with local people and schools to dredge and clear the irrigation canal system, especially handle water hyacinth on drainage canals, and maintain and repair irrigation works.

After the inspection, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De requested Nam Irrigation Company Limited to report and clarify the proposed plans for the degraded works to the Provincial People's Committee for a solution, especially the two pumping stations: Hung Chau pumping station, Hung Nguyen district and Bau Non pumping station, Nam Anh commune, which are seriously degraded.


Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De also requested to focus on dredging canals to ensure progress. While the degraded pumping stations cannot be rebuilt, timely maintenance is needed to serve the upcoming spring rice production.
According to the report of the Irrigation Department, up to this point, localities and units across the province have mobilized 203,657 working days and dredged 94,212.8 m3Excavated land of all kinds, grass cutting, clearing, and duckweed collection area is 878,047.2 m2… estimated cost of about 32.14 billion VND.
