Vinh City officially selects 4 walking streets
(Baonghean.vn) - Vinh City People's Committee is submitting to the Provincial People's Committee to build 4 routes as walking streets.
On these routes, especially Nguyen Van Cu and Ho Tung Mau streets, business activities are quite vibrant and bustling; there are many business establishments in all fields: Grocery, fashion, refreshments, food and beverage, beauty, art, etc.
Therefore, when the city has a policy to build these streets into walking streets, people, especially kiosk owners who live on the street and do business here, are very interested in what plan the city will have regarding organizing business on these streets.
Currently, the city has a tentative plan for doing business on the sidewalks and streets of the two main walking streets, Nguyen Van Cu and Ho Tung Mau.
Specifically: On the sidewalk of Nguyen Van Cu street: Allow households doing business on the street to use the entire sidewalk in front of their business establishments to organize additional types of tourism services to create excitement, bustle, and attraction for the entire street.
For the sidewalk of Ho Tung Mau street (in front of the Provincial Sports and Culture Center, the mobile police agency; in front of Quan Lau market): Use the sidewalk for rent to organize night business activities, sell goods to serve tourists such as: sketch portrait drawing, calligraphy, photography, refreshments, coffee, street food...

Accordingly, organizations and individuals in need will register to rent sidewalks to organize business, organize artistic activities combined with sales at prices regulated by the City People's Committee.
Sidewalks are only used for organizing tourism services; suitable and aesthetic mobile umbrellas are allowed to be used for business purposes during the walking street; cooking kitchens or shelters are not allowed on the sidewalk; The sidewalk must be returned to its original state after the walking street has been in operation.
The entire roadway area is used for pedestrians and to organize street art activities, cultural performances with the form of fundraising to maintain these activities regularly; Part of the roadway and sidewalk of Ho Tung Mau street on the central park side is used to organize souvenir sales and street food services.

Although not located in the walking street area,The night market area with chicken porridge, chicken pho, and eel porridge shops on Ho Sy Duong street is a unique cultural feature of the city, so the city will invest in technical infrastructure, prohibit car parking, and neatly and beautifully arrange civilized night porridge shops to serve residents and tourists.
However, this is just a plan, the city is currently distributing polls to the people. And from now until the walking streets come into operation, there will be referendums to collect opinions from the people, perfect the plans to ensure the development trend of the city as well as harmonize the interests of the people.
