Arson kills 2 people, because he was kicked out of the football team?
Holding a grudge for 10 years just because he was not allowed to participate in a football tournament, Tam plotted and set fire to take revenge, causing the death of two people in a family.
On February 9, according to information from Vinh Phuc Provincial Police, this agency has issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Nguyen Van Tam (43 years old, residing in Le village, Dao Tu commune, Tam Duong district) for murder.
Tam was identified as the suspect in the fire at the home of Nguyen Ngoc Kien (40 years old, living in the same village) that caused the death of Kien and his nine-year-old daughter.

According to the case file, at around 1:00 a.m. on January 30, 2018, a house fire broke out at Nguyen Ngoc Kien's house, killing Kien, Nguyen Thi Anh (33 years old, Kien's wife) and Nguyen Thi Phuong Linh (nine years old, Kien's daughter) who were both severely burned and taken to the emergency room. Linh later died on the afternoon of February 2 due to severe injuries.
Upon receiving the news, the Board of Directors of Vinh Phuc Provincial Police quickly directed professional units to investigate.
Through the investigation of the scene, the police discovered a 13.5 kg gas cylinder in front of Mr. Kien's bedroom door and gasoline on the floor.
Determining that this was a case with signs of a crime and of an especially serious nature, on January 30, the Investigation Police Agency of Vinh Phuc Province Police initiated a murder case, and at the same time focused 100% of the criminal police force and mobilized dozens of officers and soldiers from professional units of the provincial police and police of districts, cities and towns to hunt down the perpetrators.
After six days of deploying forces, the police identified Nguyen Van Tam as a suspect and proceeded to arrest him.
At the police station, Tam initially confessed that in 1998, Dao Tu commune organized a football tournament, and Le village also established a football team to participate in the tournament, including Tam and Nguyen Van Kien. At the football tournament, Tam was not allowed to participate and claimed that it was Kien who tried to prevent him from playing football.
In 2010, when visiting Tam's house, Kien reminded him that Tam was not allowed to play football because he was excluded. This made Tam angry and he wanted to take revenge on Kien. Tam tried many times to get revenge but never had the chance.
In November 2017, Kien's family renovated the house and removed the gate and door, so Tam saw an opportunity for revenge. Tam bought a 13.5 kg gas cylinder and 10 liters of gasoline, brought it home and hid it in the family's chicken coop, waiting for the opportunity to burn Kien's house.
At around 1 a.m. on January 30, 2018, Tam prepared a cloth rope, scissors, lighter, gasoline, and a gas cylinder that had been prepared in advance and brought it to Kien's house. Then, Tam placed the gas cylinder and a can of gasoline at the foot of the stairs on the first floor near the bedroom door and used a cloth rope soaked in gasoline as fuel to burn down the house.
