The West must clearly define the time frame for supporting Ukraine
(Baonghean.vn) - In a television interview, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Aleksey Danilov complained that the West does not have a clear picture of how the conflict in Ukraine will end.

“No one could give us a clear answer as to what our victory meant,” Mr. Danilov noted. “They told us: We will support you until… and I never heard them mention the word ‘victory’. They said: ‘Until you choose to make your own decision.’”
Mr Danilov stressed that Kiev needs to know clearly whether the West will stand by Ukraine until it wins the conflict or whether its support policy will end after a certain period of time.
The comments by the head of Ukraine's security service came after Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko admitted that the number of countries willing to give money to Kiev was "getting smaller and smaller" and that "there are a lot of questions about how much taxpayers in those countries are willing to finance us."
Meanwhile, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said this week that the Pentagon could only provide support to Kiev for “a few weeks” if Congress did not pass a new funding bill. The comments came after some Republican lawmakers opposed President Joe Biden’s request for an additional $24 billion for Ukraine and threatened to shut down the government unless Kiev funds were removed from the latest government funding bill.
Earlier this month, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he “sensed” waning support from Western leaders. He warned that failing to support Ukraine would be tantamount to siding with Russia. The Ukrainian leader warned Western governments that they could lose elections and face trouble from Ukrainian refugees if they did not continue to support Kiev./.
