Putin announces electronic visas for citizens of some EU member states
During a meeting with his Finnish counterpart, President Vladimir Putin announced that from October 1, Russia will issue electronic visas to citizens of some European Union (EU) member countries.

President Vladimir Putin made the statement during a meeting with his Finnish counterpart Sauli Niinisto in the capital Helsinki.
In addition, RIA Novosti news agency quoted President Putin as saying that Russia is interested in restoring full-fledged relations with the EU.
Meanwhile, Finnish President Niinisto also left open the possibility of discussing with Moscow about issuing electronic visas for Finnish citizens to visit some regions of Russia.
Previously, on July 19, President Putin signed a decree expanding the electronic visa regime to St. Petersburg and Leningrad province, effective from October 1, 2019.
