Thoroughly grasp new perceptions and thinking about national defense and security work

On the afternoon of March 28, the National Online Conference to study, learn, grasp and implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress was held by the Party Central Committee Secretariat with contents on national defense and security.

The conference heard Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Chief of the General Staff, Deputy Minister of National Defense present the topic: New perceptions and new thinking on Vietnam's national defense.

Accordingly, regarding national defense tasks, the 13th National Party Congress determined: Strengthening national defense and firmly protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland is an important and regular task of the Party, State, political system and all people, in which the People's Army is the core.

In addition, there are plans to prevent the risks of war and conflict early and from afar. Efforts are made to prevent conflicts and wars and to resolve disputes by peaceful means in accordance with international law.

The 13th Congress affirmed: Building and strongly promoting the "people's hearts" in the all-people national defense and people's security, building and firmly consolidating the all-people national defense and people's security posture.

The 13th National Congress documents develop awareness and thinking on national security protection in terms of: vision, goals, viewpoints, directions, scope of national defense, national security protection, national security protection strategies; develop thinking on national defense and security potential; develop thinking on combining national defense and security with economy, culture, society, and foreign affairs; build the people's public security force; research and develop security theory.

URGENTLY BUILD AN ACTION PROGRAM

Closing the Conference, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department requested the provincial Party Committees, city Party Committees, and Party Committees directly under the Central Committee, on the basis of grasping the viewpoints, core contents, and new policies in the documents of the 13th National Congress that have been thoroughly grasped by the Party and State leaders, to direct the organization of conferences to study, learn, and thoroughly grasp the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress for cadres and Party members who have not yet attended the conference organized by the Central Party Secretariat. The conference will be completed in the second quarter of 2021.

After studying, learning and thoroughly grasping the Resolution of the Congress, Party committees, Party organizations, authorities at all levels, and socio-political organizations urgently developed an action program to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress in conjunction with their functions and tasks, in accordance with the characteristics of the situation and actual conditions of localities, agencies and units, demonstrating determination, creativity and ensuring feasibility, practicality and effectiveness. The action program is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2021.

Besides, it is necessary to carry out propaganda work well in accordance with the motto "taking construction as the main thing", "using positivity to push back negativity"; associated with inspection and supervision of studying and implementing Resolution of the 13th National Congress.
