Quynh Luu: 6 months to produce 250 million shrimp seeds
(Baonghean.vn) - Since the beginning of the year, facilities in Quynh Luu district have produced about 250 million shrimp seeds, reaching more than 50% of the yearly plan.
Quynh Luu is the district with the largest shrimp farming area in the province with 465 hectares. Currently, there are 8 facilities producing white-leg shrimp and giant tiger prawn in the communes of Quynh Bang, Quynh Minh and Quynh Nghia. In the first 6 months of the year, the facilities in the area have produced more than 250 million shrimp, including 50 million giant tiger prawns and 200 million giant tiger prawns.

In particular, in 2015, a seed company in Quynh Minh commune came into operation and initially produced 450 million black tiger shrimp. In the first 6 months of 2016, the company produced 200 million shrimp, of which over 40 million were provided to farmers in Quynh Luu district, the rest were provided to provinces in the Northern region.

With a modern, large-scale shrimp seed production system, each year Quynh Luu district will produce over 500 million shrimp seeds, creating conditions for the development of the aquaculture industry in the area.
Currently, after the first shrimp crop, shrimp seed production facilities have promptly supplied shrimp seeds to shrimp farmers for the second crop using semi-intensive farming methods.
