Quynh Luu tightens epidemic prevention and control work at traditional markets

In order to limit the situation of people gathering at Tuan market, which poses a potential risk of Covid-19 infection, the People's Committee of Quynh Chau commune has decided to only allow people to go to the market once every 3 days by issuing market tickets.

Accordingly, the market cards are stamped by the Commune People's Committee and divided by village for market use. On the card, people must fill in full information: name, address, phone number. The distribution of market cards has been maintained by the locality since the beginning of August. At first, it was a bit inconvenient, but over time, people have gradually become accustomed to it.

Ms. Ho Thi Ly, Quynh Chau commune shared: “Due to the epidemic situation, my family has limited going to the market. We buy all kinds of meat, fish, and vegetables at once to put in the refrigerator, limiting the time we spend out of the house.”

Along with distributing market tickets to people, the People's Committee of Quynh Chau commune also arranged for the police force and the Youth Union to coordinate with the Management Board of Tuan Market.tighten epidemic prevention measures at markets. Trading activities of small traders outside the market are strictly prohibited, only one main gate is open. People entering and leaving the market must have their temperature taken, make a health declaration, and follow the 5K; small traders are granted a business license to trade at the market.

Currently, along with propaganda and mobilizing people to comply with the 5K regulations, localities also direct markets to maintain a distance of 2m between people. Markets must draw dividing lines and string ropes to keep distance between buyers and sellers; at the same time, arrange forces to block at the entrance and exit of the market, limit the number of buyers and sellers in the market, do not gather at the same time; resolutely eliminate illegal markets, temporary markets, and business activities outside the market area.

AllQuynh Luu districtThere are currently 24 markets operating, providing food and provisions for people. Immediately after detecting a Covid-19 case related to the wholesale market (Vinh city), Quynh Luu district focused on reviewing and rectifying epidemic prevention and control work at all markets in the area. Organized the signing of commitments on epidemic prevention and control for 100% of traders doing business in the market; Deployed periodic rapid antigen testing for the Management Board and traders doing business in high-risk markets; Strengthened inspection and handling of violations of epidemic prevention and control work. In particular, assigned responsibility to the head in performing tasks, in which, the Chairman of the Commune People's Committee is directly and fully responsible to the District People's Committee if there is an unsafe epidemic situation at the markets managed by the locality.

To ensure epidemic prevention, the district has directed communes and markets to develop plans and assess the risk of infection in the market area. Any market that does not meet the requirements will not be allowed to operate. For small traders, they must periodically undergo rapid testing to ensure they are negative before entering the market to trade.
