The fragrant root plant has been widely cultivated here since 1998 on soft, gravelly soil on the hillsides. Every year at the beginning of the year, people prepare the land, make furrows, fertilize, and plant new seedlings. By producing seedlings on-site, the growers do not have to invest in seedlings. After more than a year of planting and caring for the plants, one hectare of fragrant root yields an income of around 150 million VND.

| To propagate seedlings on-site, vigorous, multi-branched, disease-free clumps of fragrant root are selected, then divided into several parts for new planting. |
The main harvest of agarwood roots is from October of the previous year to January of the following year. After drying, the product is mainly sold to incense-making villages inside and outside the province. Currently, many households in Quynh Thang have switched from cassava to growing agarwood roots, so the area under cultivation is increasing.
