Feng said his younger brother plugged his phone into the USB port on the internet cafe's desktop to charge the battery. When he had to go out, Xuan pulled out the charging cord and felt a slight numbness in his hand, so he pulled it back. He tried a second time and was electrocuted, leading to his death. "He screamed when he pulled out the cable, and at that moment his foot came into contact with an iron bar on the table," Feng said.

The older brother recalled that at that time, his younger brother foamed at the mouth and slowly passed out, while no one in the internet cafe came to his rescue. "He must have been in a lot of pain, but no one did anything," Feng shared. Xuan was taken to the hospital but could not be saved.

After the tragic accident, authorities temporarily suspended the Internet cafe and expanded the investigation.

There have been several cases of electrocution caused by using phones while they were charging. In April 2016, a woman in Malaysia died after taking a call while her phone was charging. A similar incident happened to another woman in China in 2013, resulting in her tragic death.
