Samsung stops production of Galaxy Note 7

(Baonghean.vn) - Yonhap news agency quoted anonymous sources from Samsung suppliers as saying that on October 10, South Korea's largest electronics corporation stopped producing the Galaxy Note 7 - the most advanced and expensive product in its phone lines.

Samsung has had to recall at least 2.5 million Galaxy Note 7s globally due to battery defects that caused the devices to smoke or catch fire.

This is considered a heavy blow to Samsung. Many opinions say that the reputation of the iconic Korean company will be seriously affected.

Currently, Samsung has not made any comments on this incident. However, many domestic and foreign partners of the electronics giant said they will stop importing Galaxy Note 7.

Previously, the Galaxy Note 7 was reported to have battery errors in many markets, and many airlines around the world even banned passengers from bringing this phone on board or stopped providing battery charging services for the Galaxy Note 7.

Some analysts say the recall crisis, which is the worst in the company’s history, will cost the company as much as $5 billion. Still, CJ Heo, a fund manager at Alpha Asset Management, predicts Samsung will soon recover its reputation, even though the incident could hurt fourth-quarter Note 7 sales.

Last week, Samsung said its third-quarter profit rose 6% to $7 billion, helped by gains in other product lines.
