Billion-dollar stadiums are not being exploited effectively.

(Baonghean.vn) - The stadium of Yen Thanh district town was invested with billions of dong but has been abandoned for a long time, causing waste.

Yen Thanh District Stadium was built in 2012, worth over 5 billion VND, with the district as the investor. After the project was completed, it was handed over to the District Cultural Center for management and use. However, since then, the project has not been effective, the field surface is abandoned and shabby.

According to local people, for nearly 10 years, the football field has been a place for people to graze cattle and grow mushrooms.

A local resident said: We do not understand why the district central stadium was built on such a large scale but is not used, while people have to rent other fields to play amateur football.

A representative of the Yen Thanh District Cultural Center said: For a long time, we have organized a number of children's football tournaments and military enlistment ceremonies, but have not yet fully exploited the capacity of the stadium; have not attracted organizations and individuals to play grassroots football. The reason is that the field surface is bad, while in the district there are many artificial turf fields. Not to mention that the stadium has not yet invested in a pit road system, so it has not been exploited to organize athletics competitions...

"The stadium is far from the cultural center so management is difficult. Currently we are renting it to businesses to organize trade fairs" - said the leader of the district Cultural Center.
