On the morning of August 20, 1 new case of Covid-19 was recorded in Hanoi, Vietnam has 994 patients
The National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control said that it has recorded 1 new case of Covid-19 in Hanoi, an 87-year-old male patient. Vietnam currently has 994 patients.
Number of cases in Vietnam:
- As of 6:00 a.m. on August 20: Vietnam has a total of 654 Covid-19 cases due to domestic infections, of which the number of new cases related to Da Nang from July 25 to present: 514 cases recorded.
- From 6:00 p.m. August 19 to 6:00 a.m. August 20: 1 new case, including 0 imported cases.
Information on new cases: 01 new case (Patient 994):
CASE 994 (BN994) in Hanoi:Male patient, 87 years old, with address in Khai Xuan commune, Thanh Ba district, Phu Tho province.
On August 11, the patient developed symptoms and on August 12, went to E Hospital for examination, then returned to a relative's house in Co Nhue, Bac Tu Liem, Hanoi.

On August 18, the patient's sample was sent to the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology for testing and the patient tested positive on August 19.
The patient is currently being quarantined and treated at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Dong Anh facility.
