Morning of May 27: 25 more positive cases; Tropical Diseases Hospital is lifted from lockdown

On the morning of May 27, the Ministry of Health recorded 25 positive cases of nCoV, including 24 cases recorded domestically in Bac Giang (23), Lang Son (1) and 1 case quarantined immediately after entering the country.

The number of community infections since April 27 has reached 3,052 cases in 30 provinces and cities. The number of new infections this morning brought the total number of infections in Bac Giang to 1,543 cases, and Lang Son to 45 cases. 25 new cases were recorded from number 6087-6111.

The Ministry of Health has just issued a decision to end the medical isolation period to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, branch 2.

However, to ensure the care and treatment of patients being treated at the hospital, and to minimize the spread of Covid-19 from the community to the hospital, the Director of the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases still decided to apply medical isolation measures to ensure the treatment, care, prevention and control of Covid-19 at this facility until June 9.

Thus, all officers and employees serving the treatment and care of Covid-19 patients at Kim Chung facility continue to stay at the hospital to perform the task of examining and treating patients.

During the time the Ministry of Health decided to quarantine the hospital, the hospital both isolated and controlled the outbreak at the hospital and treated nearly 440 Covid-19 positive patients from Hanoi and the northern provinces, especially recently severe patients from Bac Ninh, Bac Giang and from K Hospital.

Also during the above period, the hospital treated and declared 86 cases cured, and the hospital transferred 44 cases of patients who tested negative twice but did not have enough quarantine time according to regulations to other medical facilities for continued quarantine and treatment.

Previously, on May 5, when testing 307 samples of staff and patients being treated at the above hospital, 14 samples tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus. In light of the above situation, Hanoi City leaders agreed with the Ministry of Health to quarantine the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases (Dong Anh facility) to control the infection.
