Crime crackdown will be launched in April 2019

At the meeting, representatives of departments, branches and sectors reported and discussed many contents of work performed in March, and deployed tasks for April 2019. In particular, the main contents were determined to focus on: Implementing regulations on heads of Party committees receiving citizens. The armed forces continued to maintain combat readiness; ensuring safety for political and cultural events taking place in the area. Directing districts to conduct defense zone drills.

Strengthening the work of grasping the situation, coordination between functional agencies and districts, cities and towns to strengthen security in all fields, especially religious security and rural security.

Strengthen crime prevention and control, launch high-profile campaigns to crack down on all types of crimes. Strengthen the prevention and control of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, fake goods, poor quality goods, and violations of food hygiene and safety. Focus on resolving cases and cases that have been directed by the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee at monthly meetings and promptly report cases to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee according to the provisions of Directive 15-CT/TW dated July 7, 2007 of the Politburo.

Previously, evaluating the work of March, the sectors in the bloc have well implemented the tasks of the unit, especially the task of reviewing and urging the subordinate units to implement the work program of 2019. The armed forces continue to strictly maintain combat readiness, ensuring safety for major holidays in the month.

The authorities have proactively grasped the situation and advised the Party Committee and the government to effectively resolve disputes and complaints among the people, preventing security and order hotspots from occurring; and ensuring safety and security for major events in the area.

Crime prevention and suppression work has been vigorously implemented; the rate of social order crime investigations is high (83%). State management of security and order continues to be strengthened; crimes against economic management order, environment, and traffic accidents have decreased compared to the previous month.

The two-level prosecution agencies have strengthened coordination in investigating, prosecuting, and trying cases, especially major drug cases and cases directed by the Provincial Party Standing Committee.

Inspection and examination work has been actively implemented, detecting and proposing timely handling of violations. The sectors (Customs, Market Management, Forestry) have strengthened inspection, control, and arrest of many cases related to fraud, counterfeit goods trading, food safety and hygiene, drug trafficking, and illegal firecrackers during the 2019 holiday season.

In March 2019, the authorities discovered 77 cases of social order crimes. The authorities investigated and clarified 64/77 cases, reaching 83.1%.

Drug crimes: 104 cases were discovered and 119 subjects were arrested (an increase of 11 cases and 16 subjects compared to the previous month), 762g of heroin, 149g of crystal meth and 1,522 synthetic drug pills were seized, 5.7g of marijuana and 300g of opium were seized. In particular, the provincial police focused on sweeping and eliminating 3 groups illegally trading in large quantities of drugs in Vinh City and Ky Son and Que Phong districts, seizing nearly 1,600 synthetic drug pills, 2 guns, 5 bullets and 1 grenade.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee noted that the sectors in the Internal Affairs Bloc need to focus on directing the review of tasks in April, promptly proposing solutions to effectively implement tasks in the second quarter of 2019 and ensure progress.
