Department of Transport gives 100 gifts to poor students in Keng Du
(Baonghean.vn) - On October 24, a working delegation of the Nghe An Department of Transport led by Mr. Nguyen Huu An - Deputy Director of the Department went to Keng Du commune, Ky Son district to give gifts to poor students in the commune.

The total number of gifts includes 100 packages, worth nearly 100 million VND, including 100 felt blankets, 100 school bags and over 1,000 notebooks given to students of 2 Primary and Secondary Schools in Keng Du commune.
At the same time, 2 million VND was given to Mong Thi Ba, a poor orphan student studying in class 4D, Keng Du 2 Primary School, sponsored by the Department. This time, the delegation also donated 1 freezer to the Kindergarten and 5 tons of cement to the People's Committee of Keng Du commune.

At the gift giving ceremony, on behalf of the leaders of the Department of Transport, comrade Nguyen Huu An kindly encouraged and visited, shared difficulties with teachers and students of the school, hoping that the locality and the school would continue to strive to overcome difficulties and improve in teaching and learning.

The above gifts are an activity in response to the province's "Support to School" program launched at the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year, according to which the Department of Transport allocated half of the budget to help poor commune Keng Du. It is known that from 2012 to now, the Department of Transport has spent an average of 200 to 250 million VND per year to help poor commune Keng Du as assigned by the province.
Keng Du is a remote and disadvantaged commune of Ky Son district, the commune center is over 70 km from Muong Xen town. Currently, the whole commune has 936 households, mainly Khmu and Thai people; the poverty rate is 87% of households.
