River dries up, people in Nghe An discover 'huge' bomb in the middle of the stream
(Baonghean.vn) - The prolonged hot weather has caused the bottom of the Ro River (Thanh Chuong - Nghe An) to dry up, exposing the bomb and it was discovered by fishermen who reported it to the authorities.
On July 2, the Thanh Chuong District Military Command coordinated with the Bomb and Mine Clearance Team - Engineering Department (Provincial Military Command) to salvage and safely handle a 1.2m long bomb weighing about 330kg at the Ro River bordering the two communes of Vo Liet and Thanh Chi, about 100m from Ben Quan Bridge.

After discovering the exact location of the bomb, bomb disposal officers and soldiers demarcated the dangerous area and deployed professional measures to remove the bomb from the ground.
