MOVE TO WORK NEAR HOME

Mr. Nguyen Huu Luc, born in 1980, currently lives in Hamlet 1, Bai Son Commune (Do Luong), 1 km from Do Luong Cement Factory. He used to work as an excavator operator for 10 years at a company in the southern provinces. During those days, he and his unit traveled across the Central Highlands provinces to work on projects, with a monthly salary of around 9 million VND but he could not save much, and he was far from home...

In 2016, when Do Luong Cement Factory (under Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company) announced the recruitment of many positions, he applied for this position. With his work experience and the factory's preferential policy for local people, Luc was selected and has been working at Do Luong Cement Factory since then.

Meeting him after work in a solid house in Hamlet 1, Bai Son Commune, Mr. Luc shared: “Since I started working at Do Luong Cement Factory, I have been close to my wife, children, and relatives. After work, I come home to eat and help my wife take care of the family. With a monthly salary of over 10 million VND, my wife and I have saved up to renovate the house and pay for the education of our three children. Before, my income was almost the same, but I was far from home, spent without planning, and occasionally went back to my hometown, so I couldn’t save much…”.

There are currently more than 700 Nghe An workers (out of a total of more than 1,400 workers) working at units under Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company. Among them, there are hundreds of people who used to live far away and were recruited by the unit. Each person has a different situation and job position, but when they get to work near home, everyone is really excited, takes care of work, and is close to family and relatives.

OPPORTUNITY FOR MANY WORKERS NOT TO "LEAVE HOME"

Over the years, Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company has been operating stably, with high productivity and product quality that has been highly appreciated by domestic customers and exported to many countries, including demanding markets such as the US. Currently, the unit is continuing to recruit workers in many positions to serve the acceleration of phase 2. During that process, the company's policy is to prioritize workers from Nghe An, especially those from localities near factories and enterprises.

Among hundreds of Nghe An workers working at Do Luong Cement Joint Stock Company, there is Mr. Dao Danh Luyen, born in 1993, in Bai Son commune. Since 2016, right after graduating from college with a major in Electricity, he was recruited to work at Do Luong Cement Factory. His house is less than 1 km from the factory, after each shift, he returns home with his parents. According to him, life is stable and favorable.

The happiest are Mr. Luyen's parents, because they have 2 children, the eldest sister married far away, the son gets to work near home "what a blessing". Mr. Luyen's father, Mr. Dao Danh Ha - Secretary of the Party Committee of Bai Son commune for the 2020 - 2025 term, excitedly shared: "Many households in the commune, district as well as my family have children working at Do Luong Cement Factory, which is really exciting. In reality, many of our children go to work far away, but their income is not high, their life is unstable...".

The fourth wave of Covid-19 has been and is taking place, forcing tens of thousands of workers who are children of Nghe An working in the southern provinces to find many ways to return to their hometown. In such circumstances, it shows the preciousness and happiness of workers who work near home.

“Getting off work and eating at home” is the joy of all Nghe An workers working at businesses and units in the province. Recently, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs informed that there are 27,000 job positions in businesses and units in Nghe An that are connected and waiting for workers. That brings many opportunities for Nghe An children not to have to “leave their homeland”…

STABLE PRODUCTION, HARMONY OF INTERESTS

Currently, Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company has over 1,400 employees; of which, Nghe An people account for more than 700 employees, the majority are from Bai Son commune and Do Luong district with 223 people. The connection of local employees with the company demonstrates the stable development of the unit as well as the good implementation of the initial commitments to prioritize local employees, meeting the requirements when recruiting.

In the context of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic and Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company having to maintain 24/24 production in many departments, the company's leaders have deployed many solutions to ensure effective disease prevention and control. In addition to raising awareness among employees, the company deployed a team of medical staff, coordinated with security to conduct medical declarations, measure body temperature, and disinfect anyone entering and leaving the unit.

The company also cooperated with the health sector and Nghi Loc district authorities to effectively implement epidemic prevention measures for foreign experts working at the company. Therefore, since the outbreak of Covid-19, there has not been any case of the unit's employees being infected with the disease.

In particular, to ensure stable production, meet the requirements of output and quality of Clinker and cement products for partners, Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company always thoroughly instructs departments to maintain good labor discipline, and promptly cares about the rights of workers.

Through the discussion, Mr. Hoang Minh Tuan - Director of Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company said: Production is stable, products are consumed domestically and exported, the Company always ensures full benefits for employees. The unit also spends tens of billions of VND on social security activities, supports localities in building new rural areas, and gives gifts to policy families and poor households.

The company also supports the forces to prevent and fight Covid-19 in Nghe An and the North Central provinces. In early August 2021, the company's leaders, through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, donated 3 billion VND to support the province in preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic...
