Strengthening propaganda and fire safety inspection for houses combined with production and business

According to statistics, in the past 2 months, there were 344 fires nationwide, killing 27 people, injuring 37 people, and causing property damage estimated at 39.4 billion VND. Of which, 44/344 caseson fireat houses for both residence and business (accounting for 12.8%), killing 21 people, injuring 3 people, and property damage estimated at about 5.6 billion VND.

The conference recorded presentations from many units across the country with many good and creative ways in implementing propaganda, guidance and inspection of fire safety. Thereby, gradually creating changes in fire safety awareness of householders, business owners and people. In addition, some shortcomings and limitations were also pointed out, analyzed, drawn from experience and proposed solutions to overcome in the coming time.

For Nghe An province, there are currently 21,485 houses for residence combined with production and business (in Vinh city alone, there are 767; and for Le Mao ward - where the tragic fire occurred at Fill tea room, killing 6 people, there are 18 houses combined with production and business).

With such a large number of establishments, to ensure effective implementation of the peak period, the Provincial Police has directed the local police to advise and guide the People's Committees of communes, wards and towns to establish interdisciplinary teams to organize inspections, combine propaganda and provide guidance on fire safety for the subjects. Thereby promptly detecting 2,154 shortcomings and violations; sanctioning 28 violations with a fine of more than 25,000,000 VND.
