On the morning of June 7, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Information and Communications, and the Provincial Journalists Association jointly organized a regular press conference for June 2022. Attending the conference were comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; leaders of the Internal Affairs Department, Provincial Police, Nghe An Newspaper, Nghe An Radio and Television Station, and representatives of local and resident press agencies.

Reporting on press activities in May, comrade Nguyen Ba Hao - Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Information and Communications affirmed that press agencies have focused on providing information and propagating diverse contents on current affairs - politics, economics - society, national defense - security.

Highlights include activities to celebrate the 132nd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh in conjunction with the 2022 Sen Village Festival; a seminar on the 50th anniversary of the Plain of Jars - Xieng Khouang defense campaign; and the 68th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory...

The press agencies have also accompanied and promptly reported on the policies, directions and drastic management of the provincial and local leaders in many fields and contents, especially the work of site clearance for key projects; removing difficulties and obstacles for businesses; handling arising issues, complaints, denunciations and reflections from the people.

Press agencies have published many articles analyzing, commenting, and criticizing many issues of public concern related to the real estate market; delayed projects, “suspended” projects; violations in land management; illegal forest exploitation; the situation of oversized and overloaded vehicles; landslides and lack of domestic water in Chau Hong commune (Quy Hop)...

The work of Party building and rectification; fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints of hostile and reactionary forces; praising good people, good deeds, and typical examples that have a widespread effect in society continue to be propagated by press agencies.

In general, press activities have many changes in depth, following the principles and purposes of the press agency.

In addition, through the inspection and examination of the compliance with the law on press activities of the Department of Information and Communications for 16 representative offices of newspapers and magazines in the province in May, 5/16 representative offices still published some news and articles that were not consistent with the principles and purposes specified in the granted press operation licenses.

Many representative offices of the magazine during the inspection period did not have news, in-depth articles, specialized fields, or research results in the licensed fields.

Some offices have not advised press agencies to respond to citizens' petitions and complaints as prescribed in Clause 2, Article 12 and Clause 3, Article 39 of the 2016 Press Law.

Along with information from the Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Information and Communications, at the meeting, reporters and journalists also discussed a number of issues related to the profession and ethics of journalists during their work; changing the mindset and awareness of all levels in creating conditions for journalists and press agencies to operate, even if reflecting negatively, it is also aimed at timely and accurate information of the incident, avoiding distorted information in public opinion.

Will develop regulations for coordinating the handling of issues raised by the press.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department thanked the press agencies and those working in the press agencies for always accompanying, encouraging, informing and propagating activities in a timely manner, contributing to socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, building the Party and the political system.

The Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department also shared that Nghe An province is one of three localities with a large number of press and magazine agencies and representative offices in the country.

In the condition that the area is not expanded, the press agency and magazine offices have developed with a total of 70 agencies and representative offices, so the press activities have overlaps, as reflected by the base, there are agencies that have 5-7 press agencies coming to work in one day. However, the management activities are still guaranteed, the base and public opinion highly appreciate the contributions of the press agencies and journalists.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong also informed that the province's policy is focusing on promoting the application of information technology, digital transformation and related to information and propaganda work, focusing on strengthening the electronic information portal system of departments, branches and district levels.

Along with that, evaluate and develop regulations and conventions on the activities of journalists to recognize and honor the activities of journalists, while creating trust among Party committees, authorities and people in press agencies and journalists.

The Provincial Party Standing Committee also assigned the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Information and Communications, and the Provincial Police to develop regulations for coordinating the handling of press issues and information on social networks in a timely and effective manner.

Concluding the conference, comrade Pham Ngoc Canh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department requested press agencies and journalists to continue promoting propaganda work, focusing on propagating the implementation of the Resolution of the Party Congresses at all levels; propagating and spreading the results of 10 years of implementing Resolution 26 of the Politburo on Nghe An; propagating the Party cell congress for the 2022 - 2025 term.

Focus on promoting education, focusing on career guidance and orientation for students, contributing to changing social psychology in education and job search. Along with that is promoting issues related to family, children...
