Training on technical collection and treatment of pesticide packaging
(Baonghean.vn) - The Institute of Agricultural Sciences has just coordinated with the Yen Thanh Farmers' Association to organize a training course on techniques for collecting and processing pesticide packaging for farmers, sponsored by the Swedish WE EFECT project.
During 2 days (August 24-25), the Institute of Agricultural Sciences in collaboration with the Yen Thanh Farmers' Association organized 4 training courses on techniques for collecting and processing pesticide packaging for nearly 200 farmers in Dong Thanh, Nam Thanh, Quang Thanh and Tay Thanh communes; sponsored by the Swedish WE EFECT project through the Vietnam Farmers' Association.
As a purely agricultural area, Yen Thanh district has nearly 17,000 hectares of agricultural land, so the amount of pesticides used annually is very large.

During the training, the people were equipped with basic knowledge about environmental protection in the fields; approached the system of collecting and processing pesticide packaging designed with 2 compartments produced by the Institute of Agricultural Environment. In which, they mastered 6 technical classification operations; treatment methods using 4 specialized chemicals to recycle into environmentally friendly products.

Accordingly, each commune participating in the project will be supported with a system for collecting and treating pesticide packaging and bottles, applied to an area of 20 hectares of cultivation, and specialized chemicals for the first treatment with a total value of 70 million VND.
Through the training course, we will contribute to limiting potential risks of environmental pollution and health and safety, as well as the lives of people when producing in the fields, helping localities and farmers move towards a green and sustainable agricultural production./.
