Training on how to build new rural areas in the period 2021-2025
(Baonghean.vn) - On February 15 and 16, in Hai Phong, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development held a training conference on some new knowledge on new rural construction (NTM) for the period 2021-2025. The conference was attended by over 300 delegates representing departments, offices, and institutes of central and local ministries and branches.
The National Target Program on New Rural Construction is assessed by Party and State leaders to have achieved great, comprehensive, and historic results.
Up to now, the whole country has 6,009/8,225 communes (accounting for 73.08%) meeting the NTM standards. Of these, 937 communes have met the advanced NTM standards, 110 communes have met the model NTM standards; 255 district-level units in 58 provinces and cities have completed their tasks and met the NTM standards.
Based on the results achieved by the program until 2020, on February 22, 2022, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 263/QD-TTg approving the Vietnam Fatherland Front Program on New Rural Construction for the period 2021-2025. In particular, many goals, contents and tasks of this period have changed.
2023 is again identified as a pivotal year to realize the program's goals.
Therefore, to help units under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, training schools, local NTM coordination office systems, agricultural extension systems, quality management, cooperative economics and rural development... understand and grasp new contents and issues, especially the directions of the Ministry's leaders to organize synchronous implementation from the Central to local levels, the Ministry's leaders directed the organization of a training conference.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hang - Deputy Head of the Provincial New Rural Area Coordination Office said: In this training session, delegates listened to experts, leaders of sectors, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development inform about the organization of agricultural production and business associated with the development of cooperatives and linking agricultural value chains, orientations for developing agricultural and rural community tourism in building new rural areas; issues on developing OCOP products.
The conference also provided training on the application of 4.0 technology in digital transformation of agriculture and rural areas in the locality; innovation in agricultural extension work to serve the strategy of sustainable agricultural and rural development, building ecological agriculture, modern rural areas, civilized farmers; ensuring quality and food safety in production, processing, connecting agricultural, forestry and fishery markets, etc.

The conference helped delegates better understand the tasks and work that the Ministry is implementing. On that basis, it identified the contents that need to be discussed, shared, and cooperated, contributing to improving the efficiency and results in the work of advising and guiding localities in implementation. On the other hand, the conference also contributed to improving the capacity, initiative, and participation of the system of training schools under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
