At 6:30 a.m. on January 29, the Operational Duty Team (Nghe An Border Guard) received information: 1 fishing boat without a registration plate owned by Mr. Cao Sy Thanh (40 years old, residing in Trung Son ward, Sam Son city, Thanh Hoa province) and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chung (34 years old, residing in Ngu Loc, Hau Loc, Thanh Hoa province) was fishing at coordinates 19008'N - 105059'E was about 16 nautical miles east of the coast of Quynh Luu district when the engine broke down.

The captain and crew on board were unable to fix the problem and requested an emergency rescue.
After receiving the information, the Nghe An Border Guard Command reported the situation to relevant agencies and directed coastal units to coordinate with local authorities to notify vehicle owners and captains operating in the area about the broken fishing boat so they can come to support.
Currently, the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Command has directed Squadron 2 to prepare forces and vehicles to carry out search and rescue missions when ordered.
