These days, at the major fishing ports in Quynh Luu district, Hoang Mai town... fishing boats are bustling back to shore. According to the locals, normally a trip at sea lasts more than 10 days, but this time due to a storm at sea, they returned early.
Fisherman Ho Huu Thien in Quynh Nghia commune (Quynh Luu) said that although they only fished for 8 days, the crew caught and processed 120 kg of dried squid (priced at 1,200,000 - 1,500,000 VND/kg), more than 1 ton of boiled squid (priced at 120,000 VND/kg) and some other types of fish. The total income of this fishing trip was over 400 million VND, after deducting all expenses, each crew member earned 10 million VND.

"A large capacity boat with over 700 horsepower like mine normally fishes 12 days/trip, but due to the storm, it had to return, resulting in a lower catch. This time, seafood is easy to catch, has high value, and traders buy it to store for Tet, so the output is favorable" - fisherman Ho Huu Thien shared.
Through some other boat owners, it is known that the seafood caught includes mackerel, silver pomfret... so the value is quite high. However, some boats have only been on the boat for 3-4 days and have to return to avoid the storm, so the catch is low, while those that have been on the boat for 5-8 days all have quite high output and are profitable.

Quynh Lap commune (Hoang Mai town) has numberlarge capacity boatthe most in the province. Mr. Phan Van Hai, Chairman of the Commune Fisheries Association, said: By the afternoon of November 1, basically local fishing boats fishing offshore had returned to port to avoid the storm. Among them, there were boats that caught over 15 tons of seafood, the smallest boat caught at least 6 tons. However, whether there is profit or not depends on the value of the seafood; boats that catch a lot of squid, silver pomfret, mackerel, etc. will make a lot of profit; on the contrary, boats that catch anchovies will make little profit, or break even.
For the past 3 days, Lach Quen Fishing Port has been bustling with boats coming to unload seafood. Mr. Nguyen Duc Dong - ManagerLach Quen fishing portsaid that this time, nearly 100 large-capacity fishing boats of Quynh Luu fishermen registered to dock at Lach Quen fishing port, so there were hundreds of tons of seafood docked at the fishing port. After the storm has passed and fishermen have a full moon break, it will take about 3-4 days for people to continue going out to sea to catch and supply seafood for the end of the year.
