Massacre in Lao Cai: Flammable gun discovered, clues to the perpetrator
A loaded flintlock gun was found at the kitchen door. The police have identified the suspect and are searching for him.
On the afternoon of August 10, authorities have identified and cordoned off the suspect in the massacre of four people in Lao Cai and are pursuing him.
Due to the particularly serious nature of the case, the Ministry of Public Security has sent a number of forces from the Criminal Police Department and other professional units to Lao Cai to coordinate with local authorities to capture the perpetrator.

Major General Ho Sy Tien, Director of the Criminal Police Department (C45), Ministry of Public Security, said that the police force has identified the suspect in the case and is pursuing him.
General Tien added that the suspect is a resident of the area, and the initial cause was determined to be murder and robbery.
Mr. Tan Ong Nai (born in 1994, residing in Phin Ngan village, Trinh Tuong commune, Bat Xat district, the person who discovered the incident is also the husband and father of the victims) said that at around 9 pm, after returning home from working in the fields, he could not push the kitchen door open, so he went around to the back of the house and discovered a loaded flintlock gun was installed in the kitchen door. However, when checking around the house, no one was found.
At the scene, the house's furniture was ransacked and more than 10 million VND was also missing.
As previously reported, on the evening of August 9, in Phin Ngan village, Trinh Tuong commune, Bat Xat district, Lao Cai, a serious murder case occurred, killing 4 people in a family.
Currently, Colonel Dinh Tien Quan - Director of Lao Cai Provincial Police has directly arrived at the scene to direct the investigation.
By 4pm this afternoon, the autopsy was completed. Lao Cai Provincial Police have provided the victim’s family with 10 million VND for funeral expenses./.
