Young man riding a motorbike doing a wheelie was fined over 7 million VND

In recent days, a video has been posted on social media recording a young man without a helmet driving a Honda Dream doing a wheelie on a road.

This young man was doing wheelies, weaving and swerving on the road comfortably and carefree. His friends even enjoyed filming this dangerous and unsafe traffic performance.

Many readers expressed outrage at this man's disregard for his own life and the lives of others, saying that the authorities need to quickly track down the young man to impose a "cold" fine to deter and educate the public.

Immediately after learning the above information, Tu Son Town Police, Bac Ninh proceeded to verify and clarify the identity of the young man in the above video.

Through verification, Tu Son Town Police have identified the young man as Do Van Hieu, 21 years old, residing in Thuong village, Xuy Xa commune, My Duc, Hanoi, currently working for a wood shop in Huong Mac commune, Tu Son town.

At the end of March 2016, Hieu drove a motorbike with license plate 99Y2-3344 from Huong Mac commune to Tu Son town for fun. When he reached Tran Phu street, Dinh Bang ward, he met some acquaintances on social networks. These people asked Hieu to do a wheelie for them to see. Hearing that, Hieu drove a motorbike to do a wheelie for everyone to see and they recorded the image, posted it on social networks and it was shared by many people.

At the police station, Do Van Hieu admitted to the above-mentioned illegal acts and asked to take responsibility; he pledged not to repeat the offense.

Colonel Nguyen Van Hue, Head of Tu Son Town Police, said that with the collected documents, we have drawn up an administrative violation record against Do Van Hieu for the following acts: driving a two-wheeled vehicle with one wheel; not wearing a helmet as prescribed; no rearview mirror; no driver's license; no vehicle registration, and issued a decision to administratively fine Do Van Hieu with a fine of 7,340,000 VND.
