On the morning of October 11, some communes in the downstream of Thanh Chuong district were surrounded by water, and some routes to school for students in the area were cut off. In Thanh Lam commune, the road through Dong Mua and Minh Lan hamlets was flooded, with the road through Dong Mua alone being flooded for about 200 meters, with fast-flowing water, posing a risk of drowning. This is the route to school for dozens of students in 5 hamlets: Son Long 1, 2, Trieu Long 1, 2 and Quan Hoi hamlet.

In order to ensure the safety of middle and high school students on their way to school (primary school students in the locality are currently off school), Thanh Lam Commune Youth Union has established volunteer teams, including healthy, enthusiastic young union members who know how to swim, to be on duty at flooded roads, helping students and people cross the road.

This activity of the youth volunteer teams is welcomed and agreed by local people and will be maintained throughout the rainy and flood days.
