Iron bars from apartment building fall into market, traders terrified

(Baonghean.vn) - An iron bar from a high-rise apartment building under construction fell onto a nearby market, terrifying many small traders.

The incident occurred at around 5:00 p.m. on December 28, terrifying traders and shoppers at Ben Thuy market (Ben Thuy ward, Vinh city, Nghe An).

At that time, an iron bar from the construction site of the luxury apartment complex located on Nguyen Du street (Ben Thuy ward, next to Ben Thuy market) fell down.

At that time, Ben Thuy market (commonly known as Vinh University market) was in rush hour, fortunately the iron bar did not fall and hit anyone. However, the iron bar cut through two layers of tarpaulin covering the market from rain and sun.

Mr. D.Th.L (a trader at Ben Thuy market) witnessed the incident and said: "Immediately after the iron bar fell down, a group of workers from the construction site came to the scene to remove the iron bar. However, the traders requested to keep the scene intact so that the authorities could come and work."

Afterwards, officials from Ben Thuy Ward People's Committee, Ben Thuy Ward Police and functional forces arrived at the scene and brought the iron bar to the ward to clarify the incident.

Traders also reported that recently, many objects from the high-end apartment building have fallen onto the market and the roofs of kiosks.

The incident is being further investigated by the authorities.
