Removing difficulties for the operation of Song Lam Cement project

Attending the meeting were comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the Military Region 4 Command and a number of provincial departments and branches; districts of Do Luong, Nghi Loc, Tan Ky, Yen Thanh and leaders of The Vissai Group.

According to the report of Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company, Song Lam Cement Factory has officially operated 2 production lines with a capacity of over 12,000 tons of clinker/day.

Nghi Thiet Cement Grinding Station is designed with 3 cement grinding lines with a capacity of 300 tons/hour each. Currently, line 1 has been put into operation, line 2 is being installed with the goal of being put into production at the end of the first quarter of 2018.

Currently, the Company is constructing a specialized road to supply material to the Grinding Station from the beginning of the newly opened residential road to Hai Thinh hamlet to the material hopper area and material storage warehouse.

For Vissai International Seaport (Nghi Thiet commune, Nghi Loc district),The company has completed the construction of the main wharf and approach bridge, the import-export conveyor system, dredging the waterway, installing a signaling system to ensure port safety and officially announced the port to receive international ships of 70,000 tons.

Up to now, Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company has created jobs for 1,205 people; average income is over 7 million VND/person; and contributed to the state budget over 563 billion VND.

Sharing some difficulties in the production process, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Oanh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company said:Currently, Song Lam Cement Factory has gone into production but has not been proactive in raw materials because it is still stuck with Warehouse K41 and the demolition site, so the raw stone quarry site has not been fully handed over, leading to difficulties in exploiting the Company's limestone quarry, greatly affecting the output and product quality of the factory.

In addition, clay quarryThe Company has been granted a mining license for an area of ​​48 hectares in Bai Son and Van Son communes, Do Luong district, but it has not been able to start mining because the site has not been handed over for mining.

The Company also proposed to supplement the planning of 4 mines: Limestone mine expansion in Bai Son commune, Do Luong with an area of ​​64.51 ha; Clay mine expansion in Bai Son commune, Do Luong and Thinh Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district with an area of ​​194 ha; High Silic Clay mine in Hoi Son commune and Hoa Son commune, Anh Son district with an area of ​​6.95 ha and Laterite mine in Dai Son commune, Do Luong with an area of ​​10.47 ha. At the same time, to stabilize the source of limestone materials supplied to the factory in the coming time and in the long term, the Company has submitted a document requesting to supplement the planning of a limestone mine in Tan Long commune, Tan Ky district, Nghe An province with an area of ​​140 ha...

Speaking at the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh requested departments and branches to pay attention to ensuring raw materials for Song Lam Cement Factory to operate at the designed capacity of phase 1. During the operation process, the enterprise needs to have solutions to stabilize the lives and environment of people living near the factory area; Monitor the transportation of cement vehicles to ensure traffic safety on route N5.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong acknowledged and appreciated the participation of departments, localities as well as Military Region 4 in the Group's project, ensuring the project's progress. After a short time of operation, the Group's projects have contributed to the budget as well as created jobs for local people.

Regarding some problems in the operation of phase 1, it is recommended that relevant departments and local authorities get involved, resolutely handle them, ensure land, raw materials, open roads... to create conditions for businesses to complete the items of phase 1.

Regarding the implementation of phase 2, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the investor to submit a document to the Provincial Party Committee for consideration and implementation by relevant departments and branches. The province will create the best conditions for enterprises to invest in phase 2 of the Song Lam Cement project.
