Strengthening the people's relationship between Vietnam and Russia

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of October 30, the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An province organized a Friendship Exchange to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution in Russia (November 7, 1917 - November 7, 2017). This was also an opportunity for members to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Association's founding.

The Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of the province has contributed to developing the traditional solidarity, friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation; at the same time, it has played a good role as a bridge between the high-ranking delegations of Nghe An and the sister province of Ulianov - the hometown of VILenin.

The Association has collected information, documents, and relics, participated in the exhibition at the "President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Room", inaugurated the Uncle Ho Monument in Ulianov city; mobilized members to contribute to the construction of the GMTitop statue in Ha Long Bay; successfully organized a Spring meeting with the Nghe An community in the Russian Federation returning to their homeland to celebrate Tet; donated to support flood victims...

At the meeting, the members reviewed the heroic, meaningful and important history of the Russian October Revolution. 100 years ago, on November 7, 1917, under the leadership of the Russian Communist Party, headed by V. Lenin, the Russian October Revolution won and entered human history as the greatest event of the 20th century.

The October Revolution awakened oppressed peoples, illuminated the path of development, and advanced towards building socialism.

Members enjoyed special performances and popular Russian songs such as: Time of Exciting Youth, Two Banks, Kachiusa, Afternoon in Moscow, Smile... In addition, members also recalled memories, watched the documentary "Vietnam - Russia Friendship in the Soviet Homeland", and the photo exhibition "Vietnam - Russia Friendship".

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong emphasized the great significance of the October Revolution for Russia and the world; at the same time, he emphasized that Nghe An was the first place in the country to be illuminated by the light of the October Revolution, creating the heroic Nghe Tinh Soviet movement, "the first rehearsal for the successful August Revolution".

He also highly appreciated the significance of the meeting on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution in Russia, affirming that the values ​​of the revolution remain intact over time.

At the same time, the Chairman of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An province suggested continuing to promote the spirit of solidarity and cohesion among members, having many diverse and creative activities; thereby, strengthening the propaganda work on the tradition of friendship, tightening the feelings of the people of Vietnam - Russia in general and the people of Nghe An - Ulianov provinces in particular.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations awarded commemorative medals to 2 individuals: Mr. Le Quoc Bao - Deputy Director of Nghe An Fire Prevention and Fighting Police and Mr. Tran Huu Ich - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An province, terms 2, 3, 4, for peace and friendship among peoples and Certificates of Merit to 2 individuals for their many contributions to people's foreign affairs activities.

The Central Committee of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association also awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 individuals for their contributions to the Association's activities, including: Mr. Nguyen Canh Phu - Principal of Vinh Medical University; Mr. Tran Dinh Khanh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of the province, terms 3 and 4; Ms. Le Thi Binh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of the province, terms 3 and 4.
