4 new Covid-19 cases, Vietnam records 249 cases
At 6:00 p.m. on April 7, the Ministry of Health announced four new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country to 249.
CASE 246 (BN246):The patient is a 33-year-old Vietnamese male residing in Yen Thanh District, Nghe An Province and works as a chef in Moscow, Russia. On March 24, the patient returned to Vietnam from Russia on flight SU290 (seat 49F), arriving at Noi Bai Airport on March 25.
Immediately after entering the country, the patient was transferred to a centralized quarantine area at FPT University, Thach That, Hanoi.
On April 5, the Hanoi Center for Disease Control took samples. On April 6, the test results were positive for SARS-CoV-2.
Currently being treated at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, branch 2.
CASE 247 (BN247):The male patient, Vietnamese nationality, 28 years old, residing in Ward 1, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City, is a production line manager at Gia Dinh Shoe Company branch at 20A Dong Khoi Street, Thanh Phu Commune, Vinh Cuu District, Dong Nai Province.
The patient travels from Ho Chi Minh City to work in Dong Nai every day. He is a colleague and has close contact with patient 124 and patient 151.
After detecting patient 124 positive for SARS-CoV-2, on March 24, the patient was quarantined at Dong Nai University dormitory as a close contact.
On March 26, the patient's sample was taken by the Dong Nai Province Center for Disease Control and sent to the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City for testing, with negative results for SARS-CoV-2.
At the centralized quarantine area, the patient shared a room with four other people who were also in close contact with patients 124 and 151. During the quarantine period, the patient and his roommates did not show any symptoms of the disease.
On April 6, when preparing to end centralized quarantine, the patient was sampled for screening and the Pasteur Institute of Ho Chi Minh City confirmed that the patient was positive for SARS-CoV-2.
The patient has been transferred to Dong Nai Provincial Lung Hospital for isolation and monitoring in stable health condition, with no symptoms of the disease. The 4 people sharing the isolation room have not yet recorded symptoms of the disease and will be isolated separately for the next 14 days.
CASE 248 (BN248):Male patient, Vietnamese nationality, 20 years old. Patient from the US, transited Japan to Vietnam on flight JL079 on March 23, 2020, entered Tan Son Nhat airport.
After entering the country, the patient was transferred to a centralized quarantine area at the Ho Chi Minh City National University dormitory. Here, the patient shared a room with two other people.
During the quarantine period, the patient and his roommate were in good health. On April 5, when the quarantine period was about to end, the patient was screened by the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control and the Pasteur Institute of Ho Chi Minh City confirmed that the patient was positive for SARS-CoV-2.
The patient has been transferred to Cu Chi Field Hospital for isolation and monitoring with a stable health condition. The two people sharing the isolation room are currently isolated separately for the next 14 days.
CASE 249 (BN249):Male patient, 55 years old, Vietnamese nationality. Patient from the US, transited in Hong Kong, entered the country on March 22.
Around March 10, the patient developed the disease in the US, but still returned to the country and was taken to a centralized quarantine immediately after entering the country.
At the quarantine area, he had a headache, mild fever, and no cough. He is currently being quarantined and treated at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, branch 2.
