4 more Covid-19 cases, Vietnam has 590 cases
The 6am news on August 2 of the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control reported 4 new cases of Covid-19, of which 2 were related to Da Nang (1 in Ho Chi Minh City, 1 in Quang Ngai) and 2 were quarantined immediately after entering the country in Hoa Binh.
PATIENTS 587-588 (BN587-588):On July 17, both people from the Russian Federation arrived at Van Don Airport at 5:15 a.m. on flight VN5062 (there were 21 positive cases on this flight before), were quarantined immediately after entering Hoa Binh, had samples taken for testing twice and were negative, the third test result on August 1 by the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology was positive for SARS-CoV-2.
Currently, 2 patients are isolated and treated at Hoa Binh Provincial General Hospital.

CASE 589 (BN589):Male patient, 42 years old, in Ho Chi Minh City, traveled to Da Nang (Nam Hoi An and Thanh Khe district).
The patient is currently isolated and treated at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ho Chi Minh City.
CASE 590 (BN590):Male patient, 40 years old, in Quang Ngai, close contact with patient 517 (patient at Da Nang Hospital).
Through monitoring, the Quang Ngai Provincial Center for Disease Control quarantined the patient and took samples to the Nha Trang Pasteur Institute. The patient's test result on August 1 was positive for SARS-CoV-2.
The patient is currently isolated and treated at facility 2 Binh Son - Dung Quat, Quang Ngai.
Total number of cases: 590 cases
- As of 6am on August 2: Vietnam has a total of 590 Covid-19 cases, of which 306 imported cases were quarantined immediately.
- Number of new cases related to Da Nang from July 25 to present: 144 cases.
- From 6:00 p.m. August 1 to 6:00 a.m. August 2: 4 new cases.
Number of people in quarantine: Total number of people in close contact and entering from epidemic areas being monitored for health (quarantined): 94,216, of which:
- Concentrated isolation at hospital: 920
- Centralized quarantine at other facilities: 14,249
- Quarantine at home or place of residence: 79,047
Treatment situation: According to the report of the Treatment Subcommittee - National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control:
Up to now, 373/586 Covid-19 cases in our country have been announced to be cured, accounting for 66.8% of the total number of cases.
As for foreign patients, up to now, 50 foreign patients have been cured in Vietnam.
As of the morning of August 2, among the Covid-19 patients being treated and monitored at medical facilities, there are currently 14 patients who have tested negative 1-2 times for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. There are currently 200 patients positive for the virus that causes Covid-19.
