More patients die from pneumonia, respiratory failure, adrenal insufficiency, diabetes and COVID-19
Patient 651 died of pneumonia, respiratory failure on a background of chronic adrenal insufficiency, type 2 diabetes and Covid-19. This is the 9th death among Covid-19 patients.
On the morning of August 6, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son - Head of the Ministry of Health's special standing unit for Covid-19 prevention and control in Da Nang city informed about the death of a Covid-19 patient.
Patient 651 (BN 651): NTH, female patient, 67 years old, hometown: Duy Xuyen, Quang Nam.
Medical history: Chronic renal failure, Lupus erythematosus, type 2 diabetes, candidemia. On July 18, the patient was taken to the emergency room at the Department of Nephrology, Da Nang Hospital.
The patient was then transferred from Da Nang Hospital to Family Hospital. From that time until July 31, the patient was treated at Family Hospital.
On August 2, the patient tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus and was immediately transferred to the Department of Tropical Medicine, Da Nang Hospital. On August 3, the patient was lethargic, physically exhausted, had ulcers on the forearms and feet, subcutaneous hemorrhage on both forearms, and mild difficulty breathing.

On August 4, the patient had respiratory failure, was intubated, and put on a ventilator.
August 6, 00:45: patient in deep coma, respiratory failure, cyanosis of extremities, heart rate gradually slowed and then stopped, blood pressure could not be measured, cardiopulmonary resuscitation was ineffective; 1:30: patient died.
Diagnosis of death: Pneumonia, respiratory failure in a patient with chronic adrenal insufficiency, type 2 diabetes and Covid-19. This is the 9th death in patients with Covid-19.
Thus, up to this point, there have been 9 Covid-19 patients in our country who have died, namely patients (Patient 496, Patient 426, Patient 429, Patient 524, Patient 475, Patient 499, Patient 428, Patient 437 and Patient 651).
The deaths were all elderly people, with underlying serious illnesses such as end-stage chronic renal failure, end-stage leukemia unresponsive to chemotherapy, coronary syndrome, acute respiratory failure, osteoarthritis, hypertension, chronic adrenal insufficiency, type 2 diabetes...
