The Minister of Education and Training affirmed to the Prime Minister and the Government that the national high school exam and university entrance exam will not create concerns like in previous years.

The content that is attracting public attention is the 2017 national high school exam and university and college admissions. Minister Phung Xuan Nha said: the draft regulations continue to be innovated towards greater autonomy and efficiency; the development of exam questions, training for teachers as well as collecting opinions on the 2017 admissions plan have basically achieved consensus from society.

The Ministry of Education and Training is continuing to receive feedback from localities, universities, colleges, teachers, students and people... The goal is to make the organization of high school exams and university and college admissions easier, without creating concerns like in previous years.

Accordingly, in 2017, the education sector focused on reviewing the planning of educational facilities throughout the system. Localities are facing difficulties due to changes in the planning of the educational network related to migration and socio-economic fluctuations, resulting in overloaded cities, few students in rural areas, and scattered schools in mountainous areas. Therefore, it is necessary to calculate the aggregation of schools and school locations to increase investment in infrastructure; prioritizing the consolidation of schools in the most difficult areas.

In university education, Minister Nha proposed to increase university autonomy for schools and monitor quality. Localities should restructure the system of teacher training colleges in association with a number of large teacher training universities to serve the retraining of teachers in the province./.
