Hoang Mai town blockades Quynh Phuong fishing port area

Morning of November 19,Nghe An34 new Covid-19 infections were recorded, including 5 community cases in Hoang Mai town (Quynh Lap commune 4 cases, Quynh Phuong ward 1 case).

Among the new Covid-19 cases, patient D.NL, Hong Thai block, Quynh Phuong ward, is an employee at Quynh Phuong fishing port, a place where many people have gathered recently. In addition, a number of Covid-19 cases in Quynh Lap commune also went to this fishing port to import goods.

Mr. Phan The Huy - Vice Chairman of People's CommitteeQuynh Phuong wardsaid: "After the appearance of the F0 case, who was a fishing port employee in the area, with a history of contact with many traders and fishermen, Hoang Mai Town directed the locality to block off this fishing port, and at the same time take samples of people and traders around the port area. Quynh Phuong Ward also took 80 F1 cases to centralized quarantine at the ward kindergarten."

It is known that on normal days, this fishing port has about 100 people regularly coming in and out to buy and sell seafood, but when the boat returns to the dock, there are 300 - 500 people gathered. Therefore, if F0 is an employee working at the port, the possibility of infection to the community is very high.

Currently, the fishing boats have been at sea for 5 days and are expected to return in about 10 days. When the boats return to port, all fishermen and crew members will be medically examined and tested by authorities.

Quynh Phuong fishing port, Hoang Mai town was built in early 2016, put into operation in late 2018 with a total cost of nearly 65 billion VND, is one of the largest fishing ports in Nghe An. After being put into operation, the fishing port has created favorable conditions for local fishermen to dock, transport and classify seafood quickly; seafood trading of fishermen and traders has been smooth in recent years.
