A woman was fined 10 million VND for posting false information on Facebook.

On March 20, the Inspector of the Department of Information and Communications of Lam Dong province issued a decision to administratively sanction Ms. Trinh Thi Hue, residing in Bao Loc city (Lam Dong) for postingfalse information on facebook pagepersonal, causing public confusion.

The image of false information was posted by Ms. Trinh Thi Hue on her personal Facebook page.

Previously, Ms. Trinh Thi Hue posted on her personal Facebook page some pictures and content showing pork infected with tapeworms and confirmed that she bought it at Loc Phat market, in Loc Phat ward, Bao Loc city.

As soon as it was posted, this content quickly attracted nearly 300 comments and 800 shares, causing confusion in public opinion and negatively affecting pork consumption in the area.

Working with the authorities, Ms. Hue admitted that she had not thoroughly researched the legal regulations and had not determined the accuracy of the information, but because she was eager to let many people know to prevent it, she took the image of pork infected with tapeworms from social networks and posted it with the content on her Facebook page.

Pursuant to Clause 3, Article 64 of Decree No. 174 dated November 13, 2013 of the Government regulating administrative sanctions in the fields of post, telecommunications, information technology and electric frequencies, Ms. Hue's behavior was administratively fined 10 million VND by the Inspector of the Department of Information and Communications of Lam Dong province.

As soon as she realized her actions were illegal, Ms. Hue removed all of this information and promised to post a correction before March 21.
