Nearly 50,000 billion VND recovered in corruption and economic cases
The Ministry of Justice said that to date, it has completed the execution of more than 49,800 billion VND in corruption and economic cases under the supervision and direction of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Negativity.

According to the report, in the first 6 months of the year, the results of work in most areas of the Ministry of Justice increased compared to the same period in 2021. The Ministry performed 94 tasks, completed 63 tasks, and had no overdue tasks. Ministries and branches have drafted, submitted for promulgation or promulgated under their authority 255 legal documents; appraised 8 proposals for drafting documents and 78 projects and drafts of legal documents...
Regarding the enforcement of civil judgments, especially in handling complicated and prolonged cases, and recovering assets that have been appropriated or lost in criminal cases of corruption, economic crimes, and credit and banking cases, attention and drastic direction continue to be paid to.
Coordination with the Internal Affairs, Court, Procuracy, Police, Banking, and Social Insurance sectors in civil judgment enforcement activities continues to be carried out promptly and closely, contributing to resolving difficulties and problems arising in the process of judgment enforcement.
In the first 9 months of 2022 (from October 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022), the civil enforcement system has completed 348,490 cases (reaching a rate of 64.35%), with over VND 52,166 billion (reaching a rate of 29.47%). Some localities have achieved high results in terms of money such as: Ha Nam, Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Cao Bang, Lai Chau.
Regarding the recovery of assets appropriated or lost in criminal cases of corruption and economic crimes under the supervision and direction of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Negativity, according to the report, more than 49,800 billion VND has been executed so far, with more than 79,781 billion VND remaining to be executed.

Speaking at the conference, Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long acknowledged and thanked the efforts of officials, civil servants and public employees in the entire sector in the first 6 months of 2021.
Regarding the tasks for the last 6 months of the year, the Minister of Justice said that there are 9 key tasks and 5 main solutions. In particular, the Ministry continues to specify the orientations and policies related to the fields of work of the Ministry and the Justice sector, especially Resolution 5 of the Central Committee (term XIII). Participate in quality in building, submitting to the Central Executive Committee for consideration, promulgating and effectively implementing the Resolution on the Strategy for building and perfecting the Socialist Rule of Law State of Vietnam to 2030, with a vision to 2045; participate in and submit to the Politburo for promulgation of regulations on controlling power and preventing and combating corruption and negativity in law-making work; deploy the development of the law and ordinance-making program.
"We need to be extremely careful in the work of appraising and giving opinions on documents. Especially, in the current context of preventing and combating corruption and negativity, we need to avoid group interests. If we give wrong advice, there will be problems" - Mr. Le Thanh Long noted, at the same time emphasizing that the ministry has performed well and responsibly the tasks assigned to the Judiciary in the auction of assets, as well as participating in giving legal opinions to handle pending cases, after the conclusion of the Party's inspection and examination and the execution of judgments.
Along with that, the Ministry of Justice continues to effectively implement the contents and continue to perfect the law on civil judgment enforcement, resolve difficulties, problems and shortcomings in practice, especially regulations related to the recovery of lost assets in criminal cases of corruption and economics.
The Ministry strives to complete the targets for civil judgment enforcement, organize the monitoring of the enforcement of judgments and decisions with legal effect of the Court on administrative cases in accordance with regulations; focus resources on implementing the Public Investment Project on building a National Electronic Civil Status Database to ensure connection and sharing of birth registration data with the national population database and other data of ministries, branches...
