Deputy Minister of Science and Technology works with Nafoods Group Joint Stock Company

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 24, a working delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology led by Deputy Minister Tran Van Tung had a working session to inspect the application of high technology in production at Nafoods Group Joint Stock Company.

Also attending were Mr. Tran Quoc Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Nghe An province; on the side of Que Phong district, there were Mr. Lu Dinh Thi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee; Le Van Giap - Chairman of the District People's Committee.

Before starting the working session, the delegation visited the company’s passion fruit nursery model. From the beginning of the year to the end of September 2015, the company has created 300,000 seedlings, in addition to supplying the domestic market, it also exports to countries such as China, Laos, etc.

Since July 2015, Nafoods Group Joint Stock Company has expanded some functional areas in the nursery to increase the breeding capacity from 30 thousand plants/month to 60 thousand plants/month. In the coming time, the company will continue to expand the nursery to increase the capacity to 2 million seedlings/year, ensuring the demand for passion fruit development for the whole country.

At the meeting, Mr. Le Van Giap - Chairman of the District People's Committee briefly reported on the socio-economic situation, national defense and security of Que Phong district. Accordingly, in the first 9 months of 2015, the district's economy had many positive changes in all fields of agriculture - forestry - fishery, industry - construction - services. The economic growth rate compared to the same period is estimated at 7.6%; agriculture - forestry - fishery reached 19.15%, industry - construction reached 5.97%, services 5.94%; the average yield of spring rice reached 49.44 quintals/ha, the output reached nearly 11,000 tons.

Reporting on the implementation of Resolution 08 of the Standing Committee of Que Phong District Party Committee on passion fruit development, in the period of 2013 - 2020, Que Phong district has focused on propaganda work, raising people's awareness of the meaning and importance of restructuring to passion fruit cultivation. In addition, the district also focused on implementing solutions to gradually expand the area of ​​passion fruit. In 3 years (2013 - 2015), the whole district has planted 123.5 hectares, of which 114.5 hectares have been harvested with a total estimated output of 1,368 tons.

Mr. Pham Duy Thai - Director of Nafood Passion Fruit Joint Stock Company reported to the working delegation about the application of high technology in the production and propagation of passion fruit.

Regarding the application of high technology, the leaders of Nafoods Group Joint Stock Company said that from 2013 to present, the company has had many initiatives to improve techniques and apply technology to production such as: proactively providing disease-free, high-yield Dai Nong 1 passion fruit varieties that have been certified by the Plant Protection Institute; applying technology and equipment from Germany and Italy to produce frozen concentrated passion fruit juice; perfecting from the stage of receiving raw materials to the processing process with a production line capacity of 200 tons of raw materials/day...

In addition, the company has also successfully researched the scientific topic "Research to perfect the processes of producing gac seedlings and the process of intensive cultivation of commercial gac fruit in Nghe An" approved by the Provincial People's Committee; improved technology and equipment in production such as using by-products to replace coal, saving 800 million VND annually; manufactured a machine to cut 2 ends - peel - core pineapple ...

Comrade Tran Van Tung - Deputy Minister of Science and Technology acknowledged and commended the achievements of Nafood Passion Fruit Joint Stock Company, especially the application of high technology in agricultural production.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister Tran Van Tung emphasized: in addition to applying high technology to passion fruit breeding, the company needs to apply it to the classification, preservation and processing of post-harvest products; strengthen cooperation with partners to invest in production lines for nutritious foods and drinks from gac fruit, passion fruit and medicinal plants; cooperate with famous agricultural schools to receive technology transfer; invest in canning lines for domestic consumer products.

As for Que Phong district, it is necessary to continue to have attention and support, especially to solve the land fund issue so that businesses can expand the area of ​​passion fruit in the district. Besides, it is necessary to invest and develop plants with high economic value such as yellow flower tea, bon bo trees...; gradually develop the economy, and soon escape from poverty./.
