British Prime Minister wants to meet Russian president at G20 summit
The British Prime Minister's Office has confirmed that Theresa May plans to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in September during the G20 Summit in China, a statement from the British Prime Minister's press service said.

Earlier, the Kremlin press agency said that President Putin and Mrs. May had a phone call and planned to hold a private meeting.
During the talks, the two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in a number of areas. The talks took place at the initiative of the British side.
"The Prime Minister noted the importance of the relationship between the UK and the Russian Federation and expressed the hope that, despite disagreements on some issues, the two sides could still communicate openly and honestly," the British Prime Minister's office stressed.
It should be noted that Prime Minister May and President Putin agreed that citizens of both countries face a common threat from terrorism, and that cooperation, particularly in aviation security, is an important part of international efforts to combat terrorism.
